“Manual Therapy with Another Dimension: Core Principles of OMT"

This one day workshop explores the principles of OMT assessment and treatment.

Clinical scenarios are used to demonstrate how:

  • Biomechanical principles underlie OMT assessments and treatment techniques.
  • Three dimensional understanding of clinically relevant anatomy underpins OMT techniques.

Participants learn facet gliding and gapping mobilisations for spinal and extremity joints.

Specific muscle stretch techniques (PNF based) are taught.

Techniques unique to the OMT system that combine soft tissue and spinal mobilisation are taught.

The day is structured so that participants leave the course equipped with a selection of clinically powerful techniques to use in their practice.

A workbook is supplied for participants' future reference.

The course is fully catered.

A participation certificate is provided.

“Manual Therapy with Another Dimension: Cervical Spine and TMJ”

This weekend workshop builds upon understanding gained in previous workshops: the one day “Core Principles of OMT” workshop, and also “Thoracic Spine & Ribcage”. (Attendance at those workshop is not, however, a prerequisite for participation in this workshop).

Participants at this workshop will gain:

  • An advanced understanding of clinically relevant anatomy of the cervical spine, upper cervical spine and TMJ.
  • An understanding of cervical and upper cervical biomechanics (arthrokinematics and osteokinematics).
  • An understanding of the unique anatomy and biomachanics of the TMJ.
  • An enhanced understanding of the “whole picture”/ the relation of postural abnormality to cervical and TMJ dysfunction.
  • An understanding of coupled spinal movements.

Participants at this workshop will learn:

  • Assessment and mobilisation techniques for thoracic spine and ribs that are clinically logical and consider 3D biomechanics.
  • How to use knowledge of spinal coupled movements to increase specificity of treatment – “spinal looking”.
  • Combined soft tissue/ spinal mobilisation for thoracic spine (unique to the OMT system).

This 2 day workshop is structured so that participants will leave the course equipped with a selection of clinically powerful techniques to use in their practice.

A workbook will be supplied for participants' future reference.

The course is fully catered.

A participation certificate will be provided.
